Verdigris Paint Specimens. Option1 This pigment piece grown in my studio developed on a pure copper tube. It comes out of batch #4 copper vitriol4 and has no traditional watercolor additives. On the back it has orange red pigment from the tube before turning turquoise. It can be used in traditional antique arts applications or kept in a display case. Size is roughly around 1 3/4” x an 1 5/8”. The pigment is very soft and can crumble in shipping, the good part is it can reattach if wanted for display. Just a cap full of white vinegar to touch up with a brush or even use its pieces to paint with. I like putting vinegar in a small spray bottle to spritz and enliven even after painting with it. It does smell of copper and it’s acetate. Option2 is a medium size jumbo paint cake. Size is 2 1/4” x 1 3/16” x round about 1” thick and made without any watercolor of verdigris #4 without binders. I use laytex free gloves when handling, it is toxic. From nature the original scientist.
